Halo 3: ODST, first released for Xbox 360 in September 2009, is coming to Xbox One, 343 Industries head Bonnie Ross confirms in an Xbox Wire publish. Ross adds that anyone who performed Halo: The Grasp Chief Assortment online from the time it launched — November Eleven, 2014 — thru December 19 will get one month of Xbox Reside Gold, an in-recreation nameplate, an in-recreation avatar, and a free download of ODST as soon as it launches.
The digital goodies are all intended as a make-just right apology for the matchmaking woes that have plagued The Grasp Chief Collection considering the fact that launch. The Problems linger even now, greater than a month after Halo’s first-person debut on Xbox One.
“This has been a humbling expertise and highlighted how we as a studio can – and want – to do better for Xbox enthusiasts world wide,” Ross writes. “We’re so grateful to our lovers who’ve stood by using our side and we delight in your entire patience as we worked through these considerations.”
There’s no timeframe but for the launch of ODST — “We Are just now starting work with our companions,” Ross writes — but there’s extra to come for The Grasp Chief Collection as well. Additionally in building, as a free replace for all Grasp Chief players, is a reimagined take on Halo 2‘s in style “Relic” multiplayer map.
The Xbox One-remastered ODST is solely the campaign, 343 confirms. A FAQ on the developer’s website online lays out the freebie plans. Ross Additionally confirms separately in the Xbox Wire publish that Halo 4‘s cooperative add-on Spartan Ops episodes are coming to Xbox One for the week ending December 26.
