I know that many smartphones (at least those with iOS or Android) can use wi-fi as more detailed location recognizer than cell network, when GPS is off (or not present on particular device). Although I’ve configured a few home wi-fi networks myself and I never ever entered their physical location into any settings – I didn’t even see the option to do so on any wi-fi router. How come then wi-fi can be used as location source?
