Fears Grow in Ukraine Over Kidnappings and Beatings of Activists

Ihor Lutsenko is fortunate to be alive.

The outstanding Ukrainian journalist and activist was kidnapped on Jan. 21, interrogated, tortured and left for dead in a snowy forest outside the Ukrainian capital of Kiev.

The Person who was once taken together with him, Yuriy Verbytsky, was no longer so fortunate. Too vulnerable to crawl to security, he iced up to demise in a wooded space no longer a ways from Lutsenko, in line with the Ukrainian interior ministry.
