One Of The Crucial united states’s oldest remaining large city newspapers, the San Francisco Chronicle, is set to announce an intensive plan to arrest circulation decline and stay relevant in the digital age, Mashable has realized

Audrey Cooper, the first female managing editor within the paper’s 148-Year history, will require all staff to enter what is being described as a startup-style incubator. In a separate off-site place of job, journalists will endure two months of rigorous coaching — in impact, a digital and social media boot camp.

“The means is novel for newspapers,” says Cooper. “It physically eliminates Journalists from the standard newsroom and offers them new digital metrics, reminiscent of engagement time, to guage whether their stories have reached our core target market. We also plan to make use of actual-time monitoring of the clicks we get from social media and other referral sites, including LinkedIn, Pinterest and Reddit.” Learn More…
