In Addition To its new Kitchen Collection of Dwelling home equipment, including a refrigerator, dishwasher and oven, Samsung unveiled an eyebrow-raising kitchen-specific Galaxy pill Monday at CES.

Samsung will supply those who buy certain new appliances with a rebate the Chef Assortment tablet until March 31.

The pill is bundled with a reducing board, pre-loaded with a cooking app and works with the new Samsung kitchen appliances. The Chef Assortment can also be a standalone app that features recipes from Samsung’s meals partners (together with recipe aggregator BigOven) and Samsung’s employed skilled chefs. The app will be to be had for obtain this spring.

It’s no longer moderately clear if the pill’s to be had as anything else instead of a restricted-time present supply from Samsung. Regardless, the announcement was once a little bizarre compared to the tech developer’s other finds and the tablet has gotten its share of criticism.

Samsung is not the one company to dream up a cooking tablet: Archos has one called ChefPad. To get Samsung’s, you will have to shell out somewhat a little. The dishwasher, for one, is $ 1,599.
