With over 500M plays, Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s Lean On is Spotify’s biggest song ever

Step apart, Mr. Sheeran.

EDM consultants Major Lazer & DJ Snake now have Spotify’s most streamed music with Lean On. The ear worm, which has 526 million plays on the provider and counting according to Billboard, simply surpassed Ed Sheeran’s Pondering Out Loud to take the title spot.

The hit single was once a collaborative effort: Major Lazer wrote and recorded the track with visitor stars DJ Snake, Danish singer MØ, French home producer Martin Bresso, and Jr. Blender.

At The Beginning released in March 2015, Lean On has had an immense year commercially. After a relatively slow begin stateside, it reached quantity four on the Billboard Sizzling One Hundred in August, and persevered to spend 10 consecutive weeks within the Top 10. The music also cleaned up globally, charting in virtually Forty international locations including the U.Ok., Germany, Canada, Australia, and Brazil.

Main Lazer are currently in the midst of a worldwide tour, and will operate at the Latin Grammys on November 19. The staff will re-release the LP for Lean On, Peace is the Mission, with DJ Snake on November 27 with 5 new tracks.
