John Legend is speaking out regarding the lack of Range amongst the 2016 Academy Awards.
While appearing on the Sundance Film Competition this weekend, E! News caught up with the Oscar winner who voiced his approval on the Academy’s newest goal of doubling the choice of girls and diverse individuals by way of 2020.
“I Do Not really have a stand on the boycott right now. I do imagine that the Academy made a just right transfer the day gone by in trying to diversify the ranks within the Academy,” he advised E! News’ Zuri Hall at the Prewitt Gallery in Park City. “I just changed into a member of the Academy this year. This Is my first year balloting and I Think it is necessary for the Academy to come nearer to reflecting what the true population seems like.”
With 2016 marking the second yr of all-white Oscar nominations, some in Hollywood have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Academy. Spike Lee, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith have gone as a ways to claim they are going to not be attending the annual telecast this February.
