LONDON — There’s been a variety of excitement around huge lottery jackpots just lately, and Jonny Smith clearly wished to get in on the action.

The National Lottery wasn’t about to be duped, although. After a detailed forensic inspection of Smith’s ticket, they noticed a few indiscretions that unfortunately meant the scratchcard wasn’t legitimate.

Fortuitously, Hayley used to be available to break it to Smith gently.
