  1. HEY!!! well i did really good in summer school, A in ela and math and A+ in chemistry ( im only going to 7th grade and they said it was 10th grade stuff sooo….) and i get to choose a new phone… because i hate my old one.

I just got the phone 2009 in september. its a nokia xpressmusic 5310. i cant text because my mom wont let me. and im getting a new phone because i’ve been nagging them and all my other friends have those kewl phones. I KNOW IM A BRAT. im really not, or i try not to be. i always get good grades and i get along with everyone, and i’ve never gotten anything, literally. i never got the life of a normal kid. i decided it was time to start.

i have some choices: cliq, cliq xt, or cliq titanium by motorola?
    dlite by lg?
    intensity by samsung? (any)

and… i wanted to finally get an allowance. sometimes my parents give me money whenever i ask for it, but i feel like thats shallow and it would be better if i had to limit myself to a ceratin amount, like $17 a week ($5 more than my age, figure it out). but thats not a lot since i have to take public transportation sometimes, i have to buy my own clothes, i have to buy something to eat everyday, not because im fat but because my dad insists and my whole family thinks im too skinny to start with, but im never gonna get fat. maybe you guys could give me a different reasonable amount?

also, i want to choose a magazine to subscribe to. im thinking about seventeen magazine, or should i get something like teenvogue?

and im going to 7th grade, and i thought maybe i should pierce my ears again, for the 3rd time. the first time it hurt a lot when i was changing the earrings so i took them out. then i pierced them again for 6th grade, and they fell out in italian class so i took them out and forgot to put them back on when i got home. =/

also should i cut my hair again? i got layers and bangs (like the v so i can wear them as full bangs, and left or right side bangs) but that was 6 months ago and my hair grew a lot.

also, where should i shop for clothing? i’ve never really been much of a shopper because my wardrobe it packed dull, and so is any other form of storage in my room, but i’ll donate some clothes to the church or salvation army.

im sorry for asking so much but i wanted to sum it up instead or looking at all the questions, which this is a lot if i was so ask them as seperate questions. if that made any sense, if that didn’t, then ignore this paragraph.

don’t just say to go get a job because i tried to get a job when i was 10, but my mom said i was too young and they were gonna arrest her for child abuse. it was just a job as a bagger at a supermarket. my friend went there and she made like $40 a week working for 2 hours for 2 day.

    thanks so much!

  2. Anyone switched to ‘homemade’ diet in light of all the recalls going on? As of yesterday they’re recalling MORE foods and dry biscits- very scary. If anyone has any good websites they love telling how to do a well balanced home made diet for dogs, please share! I have done BARF before, though it gets expensive with our 5 dogs, so if anyone has other homemade diets for their dogs that are nutritionally well balanced for them, let me know! Thanks~

  3. I’m 20 years old, I’m 5’4-5’5 and I weigh about 230lbs give or take. My 21st birthday is in 6 months and I would love to lose some weight before then. I’ve struggled with my weight all my life, I’ve always been chubby but I would really like to weigh about 140lbs. I think that would be the lowest I wanna go. I don’t wanna be stick thin, just healthy. To be honest, I hate exercising lol. Eventually, I would like to get a gym membership but I don’t have the money for that right now. So my question is, how do I do this? No fad diets, please. Are there any detox diets to do? I know to drink water (I already cut out pop and fast food out of my diet) and to exercise. Are there any ‘at-home’ exercise routines? I can do sit-ups, but push-ups are kinda hard for me. I like walking (not in this snowy weather though). So please, help me out! I wanna be happy and start living life to the fullest and not being so ashamed of my weight. Any advice will help! Thankyou.

  4. I posted this in the diet/exercise a couple hours ago and didnt get any type of relevant reply.

hoping someone here knows what they are talking about…it would help more than you know 🙁

~ low calorie. less than 100 per serving really appreciated…
~ zero-low fat. 0 trans fat no exceptions. 0 sat fat appreciated too.
    ~ zero-low carb
~ zero- low sodium (very important!)
    ~ zero-low sugar
    ~ minimal ingredients,
~ meat, dairy, gluten, soy, peanut free (NO EXCEPTIONS) corn free please too…
~ not addictive tasting (dont want to risk binging)
    ~ low-glycemic index
example of a near perfect junk food would be ore-ida hash browns.
I uploaded a picture of the nutrition facts:
http://i56.tinypic.com/2d2dm3s.jpg (If it was lower carb it would be perfect!)
ore ida hash browns would be my frozen junk food of choice for the reasons listed above…however, sometimes I don’t have access to a stove, which is why i’m looking for a ready made snack that I don’t have to cook or store…
. Im blessed with ibs among other inconvenient health problems..
pleaseeeee dont answer: “apple slices or carrots are a great on the go snack!” or “junk food is bad” thanks i know.
I’m working with a dietitian, food allergist, gastroenterologist, dermatologist, psychiatrist, psychologist, and a doc that practices integrative medicine. not hypochondriac, just dealt a wild deck of cards.
im vegetarian and educated. im aware that potato chips are not good for you.
please dont ask me “why cant you snack on something healthy?” why is that important? just answer 🙂 I do eat organic produce WHEN I can.
Also, I eat regular meals throughout the day…Whatever you recommend is a SNACK, it is not my daily nutritional needs.
really not a big fan of products with corn for more reasons than my stomach not agreeing with it (agricultural bullshit) even tho i do like popcorn.
    i’ll pass on nuts too
Along with gluten intolerance, I can’t handle oats either, so any type of grains I eat is always rice or potato based, never wheat or corn…
I prefer snacks that are thicker vs thin. example: Ruffles vs lays. (like to take more time to chew each bite)
My fav chips are utz crab and Kettles spicy thai. too bad spicy foods can mess with me sometimes too. LAME… but plain is the way to go i guess
I really hope you enjoyed my novel. If you made it this far, then I seriously thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’s an overwhelming a lot of rules to keep in mind but it’s kind of necessary.
also if for any reason you didn’t want to post an answer here, you can click on my profile and just email me 🙂
    Here are my questions:

    1. What packaged food would be perfect for me if my selection for purchase was limited too:
    a. gas station/corner store
    b. grocery store
    c. whole foods
    d. trader joes

    3. What other Question and Answer sites do you know of where I could post this question again?
    4. What websites besides sparkpeople.com have forums dedicated to healthy living and nutrition where I could post this question?
    5. what exactly are the last two ingredients listed in the nutrition facts of the ore ida hash browns
    6. what other frozen foods like ore-ida hash browns do you know of?

  5. 1. Twilight is the product of an immature writer. It reads like something out of my notebook from freshman year.
    2. The only difference between Twilight and fanfiction.net is marginally better grammar.
    3. And even that isn’t so great sometimes. English major fail.
    4. I’ve read fanfiction that is lightyears better than Twitripe.
    5. The prose is purple amethyst! Deep, luscious, dazzling amethyst that scintillates and glitters incandescently in the sun!
    6. Not to mention, it’s also insanely repetitive.
    7. THESAURUS ABUSE! Fancy words are not necessarily better words.
    8. The storyline is trite and cliché.
    9. The characters are trite and cliché.
    10. Meyer doesn’t show, she tells. All of the characters’ traits (especially Bella’s) are told to the reader; we never see them in action.
    11. Stephen King is right: “Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn.”
    12. The apple: SYMBOLISM FAIL. The cover and the Bible-verse epigraph don’t relate to the story at all. Forbidden fruit? No. Just no.
    13. Chagrin. Meyer keeps using that word. I do not think it means what she thinks it means.
    14. The plot is weak to the point of being almost nonexistent.
    15. What is there defies logic.
    16. There is no deeper point to the books: they’re pure wish fulfillment.
    17. The characters are all underdeveloped.
    18. The characters are impossible to relate to on levels beyond “Bella has brown hair and she’s clumsy! Like me!” Which probably goes for more than half of tween girls.
    19. Bella is an idealized, oh-so-special, can-do-no-wrong stand-in for both author and reader. In short, she’s a Mary Sue.
    20. Another trait of Mary Sues is that they tend to have names depicting their special-ness. The name of Bella Swan, the ugly duckling, means…beautiful swan. I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE.
    21. If she’s so ordinary and plain, why are at least five guys drooling over her?
    22. Clumsiness is not a character flaw. It’s a fake-out so Meyer can say, “See? She’s not perfect! She’s not a self-insert! She’s an independent character!”
    23. She’s the protagonist and yet she manages not to learn anything or grow at all—throughout FOUR books. Compare a hero or heroine from any half-decent YA novel.
    24. Edward’s much-gushed-over “perfection” is no substitute for the personality he lacks. In short, he’s a Gary Stu.
    25. On top of that, he’s cold and dead. Ew. How is that hot?
    26. If a real guy talked like Edward, any girl would laugh in his face.
    27. Girls as young as elementary school are reading this. It’s giving them damaging ideas of what they should be—helpless, hopeless, dependent.
    28. It’s also making them think that some knight on a white horse (or a vampire in a Volvo) is going to come sweep them off their feet. Sorry, kids—not gonna happen.
    29. Also, love at first sight—yeah, right.
    30. The side characters are either epic Sues (the Cullens) or pointless and flat.
    31. Even those that could have had potential were ignored in favor of Boring and Sparkles.
    33. Vampires are supposed to be scary, not mushy-tween-romantic. They’re DEMONS, for God’s sake. SOULLESS. ETERNALLY DAMNED. DEMONS.
    34. Vampires may be able to survive on only animal blood, but that doesn’t make them vegetarians.
    35. Also, for said blood-drinking, they kind of need fangs. Even though fangs aren’t pretty.
    36. RESEARCH: Meyer did not do it.
    37. As any decent writer knows, working in an already-established mythos (in this case, that of vampire legend) means you have to know that mythos first. You need to read it, watch it, live it—believe me, I know this. Writers need a healthy respect for and knowledge of the bounds and expectations of the world they’re borrowing for a story. This goes for any pre-established mythos, including vampires.
    38. And the same goes for werewolves—oh, excuse me, shapeshifters. Yeah.
    39. What’s worse is taking an entire culture, the Quileutes, and fictionalizing it and its mythology to fit one’s whims.
    40. Racist against Native Americans (they’re the “bad” werewolves, while the “good” vampires are all…freakishly, supernaturally pale. Ouch.)
    41. If you’re going to write about a real place, make sure you get it RIGHT.
    42. Why on earth would anyone go to high school for all eternity?
    43. What’s with all the negative blonde stereotypes?
    44. Hell, what’s with all the negative female stereotypes? This book is anti-feminist.
    45. Bella is helpless. She’s a damsel in distress.
    46. She can’t walk two feet without her precious Edward saving her.
    47. In fact, she doesn’t have to do anything, because Edward will do it all for her.
    48. She has no personality. Everything readers supposedly “learn” about her is told. We never see her “in action”, demonstrating this supposed personality. See Point 5.
    49. No rules apply to her. At. All.
    50. And despite all of these things that are supposed to be so great about her…she’s boring.
    51. She whines constantly.
    52. She faints at the sight of blood in Twilight…but can d

Hi. I’m 13 years old and a female. I’m 5 foot and 2 and a half inches tall. I’m around 122 pounds now. I use kidshealth and go on the teen section quite a bit. I know this website is very reliable. The last time I tested my BMI on this site was when I was the same height and 120 pounds. My BMI then was 21.9. I was in the 81 pecentile. The healthy weight for me was 84-123 pounds. I was at the boarder line of a healthy weight and being overweight, but I was at the healthy weight. I don’t care that I’m at a healthy weight because I have a goal weight. 108-114 pounds. I need help to reach this because I don’t has anyone whatsoever that will support me. My friend will but I don’t get to see her because she is in a different state and the only way I can contact her is by calling her(not texting) and I don’t want to spend all day on the phone, and it runs up our bill. I really want to do this. Here is what I do so far.

Well, for starters I’m replacing almost all my pop with water and skim milk. I try to be out side exercising most of my day, but even though it’s fun, there are many things that get in my way of trying to do this(I’ll explaine later). This is all I can do so far, and I’m really trying. When I make a mistake I get right back on track.

Things that can cause me not to reach my goal are:
I can’t go outside intill 3:00pm-3:30pm because I’m not aloud outside when my parents are not home and at that time they are at work. We have tons of food like chips, pop, cookies, and candy. I just can’t find good meals for me to eat. My mom eat Lean Cuiseans and SmartOnes. Would those be good for me? Do you have any good recipes for me? Please no links, write them out PLEASE.

As for exercise, I ride my bike for about 5-10 minutes, mabey 15 minutes each day. I clean my room a alot and clean my hamster cage if that counts. It’s hard to get 1 hour of exercise in one day. I’m not much of a dancer so I don’t dance or anything to my favorite songs. I will NOT join a team.
Because I’m only 13 it’s hard for me to stick to a diet or routein. To make it worse, I’m going on vacation for 1 week on July 10, 2011. I plan to get salads when we eat out. We ride our bikes, hike and swim a lot there though so that makes it better.

I went to the store for apple juice and noticed the apple cider (same size and brand) was cheaper. I checked the ingredients label to see what the difference was and all they said was, contains apple juice from concentrate and apple cider from concentrate. So whats the difference?

  8. I have large german shepherd pit lab mix, and she is afraid of the world. she cowers and barks at any unfamiliar noise or voice. this can be a pro, but everytime she barks it terrifies my eleven month old son. does anyone have any good ideas on how to teach this old dog a new trick: to quit barking?
please, if your going to say something nasty, like hitting her or something, go on to the next question. this is a waste of your time and I will report you for cruelty to others. oh yes, I can do that.
    please, fellow dag moms, help!
I am seeing a lot of get her out and take her for walks. I really appreciate the comments, a lot of them, but it’s hard to get my son, and our twoo dogs out in the 114 degree weather so she can socalize. I have had bottles of water, they seem to work, but they always go missing (room mates).
thank you for all your suggestions, I will try some of them, and others I cannot afford.

    3. does the bluetooth feature enable users to share files from one phone to anther? (iphone to other non apple phone and vice versa)
    4. can it record videos?
    5. are any other earphones compatible with it or you can only use the one provided?
    6. if you were to choose between an 8gb iphone or a 16gb itouch, which one will you choose?

I have boy and girl twins who will be three in about 3 months. My son is super picky about his food, he doesn’t like when certain colors mix, certain textures together bother him…it’s just weird picky. My daughter is also EXTREMELY picky, but she’s different than Nate.
She loves fruits and veggies but when it comes to protein and calcium, she won’t go near milk, yogurt…I don’t know, it’s just weird.
How do you introduce new foods to your toddlers? What are their favorite foods?
Oh, and we are raising our kids as vegetarians (no meat and no fish, but any other animal by product). Please don’t say I’m a terrible mother, my kids are healthy and fine.

I have the Galaxy S3 right now & its not even a year old yet but I want to upgrade I think as soon as T-Mobile releases the S4 for sale. Everyone says the Iphone5 is much better but for some reason I don’t really care for it & I like Samsung products including the TVS & laptops I have, LOL. My son just bought the IPhone5 outright with all his saved & birthday money & he loves & cherishes that thing, LOL he was showing me some of the options earlier & it was kinda cool I do seem to like the Siri thing on it.

  12. I really like the iPhone but I actually looked into buying one and the freakin’ phone is 400 bucks! ($399) and the monthly plans from ATT are more expensive than my current phone plan. I wouldn’t have such a problem if it was 300 bucks. Convince me that it’s worth the extra hundred bucks and the extra 10 bucks a month for service.

My little 9 month old has been pooping hard pellets and at times it seems like it’s painful for her. Can anybody offer me some advice to help her poop soften? Thanks!

I’m actually asking about apples, not pot. I’m wondering why apple trees are usually only seen in orchards with many trees, almost never standing alone in someones’ back yard or something.

  15. The apple cider costs a lot more. Can you make apple cider from regular apple juice?

  16. Why is Apple important for making pies?
What makes apple so good for pie?
Compare apple pie and pear pie,
why is apple pie different from pear
(what’s something pear doesn’t have that makes apple important for pies)
it’s not a ec hw question!!

About the air in the apple and pear
    (apple has more air)
    what’s the different?
(i read on a book but a dont really understand )

Basically, when you skin an apple, why does it turn brown? I know that this only happens when it mixes with air, but why air?

Im thinking about all the different types of jobs that are assocciated with Apple and I am wondering if a job for Apple would be a good thing to look into. How long (in years) is Apple expected to be on the incline or in the “high business” range? Will Apple be the company to keep up with society? It seems as if they have progressed quite impressively with the public and society’s demands. How well will they keep up their creativity?

I don’t have any apple juice concentrate but I do have apple juice. The recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of concentrate.

  20. I have a recipe that calls for apple cider. I have apple juice and apple nectar although I don’t know the difference between any of them.
    Thanks for your help.
This is an American recipe I’m using.

  21. I love the sweet gooey centre of an apple pie, but I love the topping of an apple crisp? How can I combine them? Should I just slice the apples, and instead of laying them in the baking pan, coat them in brown sugar and butter?

I’m excited to try something! =)

  22. Is there a way to make apple cider from apple juice? I know it wouldn’t “technically” be cider because of the processing and the apples aren’t the first of the season, but I’m basically looking for the things I could add to apple juice to make it more cider-like. I assume cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and other spices and stuff, but I just wondered if anyone had a recipe or additional ingredients. Thanks!
